Hi,
Hoping someone can help. I'm looking installing footwell lights and door pocket lights directly to the BCM on my T6.1 highline, rather than just splicing into the dash illumination, then I can control them via the infotainment screen.
So far I have gathered that adaptation Leuchte33 AMBL 3C72 is used for footwell lights across various VAG BCMs and that pin is there and no adaptions are currently there for it. I have got the slider on infotainment too by enabling it. The factory footlights which I have appear to be piggybacked from KL30 and the interior light unlock command, hence they go off when the ignition is on. I'm fairly confident this will work if I wire them to C72.
Doorlights is another issue, i have the slider on the screen as i enabled it in the ambient lighting adaptation, but would need to get it to talk to a pin on the BCM if that is even possible. Golfs they connect to the doors ECU and run via the LIN network so it may not even be possible.
Through lots of digging it appears there are There are ambient 4 light channels
Leuchte31 AMBL 1C65 (inuse Dimming 58XS)
Leuchte32 AMBL 2C64 (not active)
Leuchte33 AMBL 3C72 (assumed Footwell, currently not active)
Leuchte34 AMBL 4C71 (not active) but may be front centre console light as have seen that used in an ibiza working.
I think the easy bit in adaptations is just setting these pins to a certain light function i.e. footwell light and the correct fault and load setting. but that isnt to say the BCM will actually tell that pin to do anything. Also, just because I have the slider for door pocket lights, doesnt mean it will control anything, it must be mapped to a pin surely? @mrfixpl has done a good video on YT in his Golf mk7 adding a cupholder light to a spare light channel and getting the slider to work.
Has anyone else played with this or am I just overthinking it all and should I just wire the door lights to the illumination dimmer and be done with it?
some pics attached
Thanks
