T6.1 150 power/boost issue at lower rpm when under load

Hi, I have bought a t6.1 150 manual...done over 100k. No lights on dash. It feels very laggy and down on power under 2000 ish rpm then comes on strong....and also you can sometimes hear the turbo spooling up and down under light load at constant throttle. Almost like it doesn't know how much boost to give. Pulling uphill under hard load in 4th,5th,6th around 2000rpm I can feel a very temporary blip in power and a bit of a watergate chatter noise briefly. There's also quite a lot of what sounds like wastegate chatter type noise if you let off after a lot of accelerator input low in the Rev range. Not sure if that's normal/related.
Bizzarely the van drives normally during a regen it seems. Only just done a regen and noticed it feels more normal- not tried it under proper load. . Turbo spools earlier and behaves. Just wondered if anyone had encountered anything similar before I book it in. Boost solenoid? N75?
No other symptoms. No coolant loss.

Been through a few regents now- doing 100% perfect when doing a regen.
@mmi I don't suppose you know if the DNAA bypasses any sensors when performing a regen? I can't get it into VW until 10th July unfortunately, still no lights on, done 1500 miles now and no worse. Thinking if it had a boost/air leak somewhere then the regen wouldn't affect it so perhaps it's a sensor if it's getting bypassed during regen

Sorry, I don't know - doubt it. Also there is no visibility into ECU internal processing via OBD port.

still no lights on
Does that also mean no fault codes? Or not checked for fault codes?

Yes- no fault codes - had it plugged into a generic obd reader at an independant too and nothing. Changed fuel and air filters already
