Good evening gents,
I recently bought a T5.1 with the caab engine swb which I suspect is the lightest load base van. The van is running 205/65r16 and after a little research on here I picked up a cheap set of Clayton’s r16 from an old amarok and purchased some 215/65r16 all terrains.
The lot was dropped in to be fitted today, I asked the tyre shop to test the rims before fitting tyres and by the time I got back they had finished. They give me some spiel about the centre hub being very tight but they were confident it would be ok, once paid the tyre fitter came running back up and asked is there a special button to release the brakes… long story short the rims were to small and they had pressed them over the caliper jamming the lot.
Where have I went wrong? I see a lot of vans running the same rim without wheel spacers?
