I have recently bought a 2017 T6 which came with 20 inch Velare wheels with 275/35 tyres. It came with a spare wheel with tyre. The van has a tailgate and the spare wheel + tyre is too big to store underneath and too heavy for the tailgate. I have thought about a space saver wheel which will be lighter and hence can be attached to the tailgate but have been unable to source one. It has been suggested to me that I could get a steel rim to fit the same tyre or go for an 16 inch steel rim with 215/65 tyres that will give the same overall diameter (seen one on ebay) and that could be attached to the tailgate. Are there any other methods available to store the 20 inch spare either internally or externally. Roof is not an option as it has a pop up roof on which I want to put solar panels.
