T5.1 CAAC engine noise

Hi,

Can anyone offer any advice please? I am completely baffled by the noise that is made when I start my 2010 T5.1 2.0 140bhp CAAC engine

I have linked a video. iCloud Photos - Apple iCloud

There was a coolant leak which a reputable VW garage advised was a crack in the cylinder head, this was replaced and the leak was still there, I then found it was the far cheaper thermostat housing which was replaced and that fixed the leak. On starting the engine this noise is there.

The timing belt kit has been replaced and I am confident it is tensioned and aligned correctly. I have also checked that the rear timing belt cover isn’t fouling the belt and that it is fitted correctly.

Fault code wise I have the following:

P067200 – Glow plug 2 circuit – Glow plugs were replaced however I am going to check it is fitted correctly and the plug is correctly attached

B104135 – Oil level thermal sensor signal too long/high – need to check the plug is connected properly

Any ideas as I am at my wits end with this now, just want to get it back on the road

Thank you in advance for any advice/ideas

Kevin, Haworth

Have you tried to run the engine without auxiliary belt - to rule that in/out?

The chirp "rate" is 1700 chirps/minute - so presumably at double of crankshaft rate.
Below 353 milliseconds for 10 chirps => 1700 chirps/minute

Not having gearing ratios for components - possibly aux belt tensioner, alternator?
Timing belt idler, tensioner?
