T4 Airbag Light

Trying to help out a friend with my vcds.
Airbag light comes on with ignition, blinks once and then stays on.
Clock spring checks ok.
Vcds is not seeing the airbag controller.
Any thoughts ?

Thanks for your reply.
It’s doesn’t show on any scan.
The connector to the airbag module was a bit dirty so have cleaned that with ipa, I’ll let you know how it goes.

No luck. Same as before.
I’ll look tomorrow for earth problems and 12v feed.

Couldn’t find any obvious issues on the module.
Attempted a vcds scan and nothing is showing/recognised now. Flashes 29 times red then 1 green and repeat.
Tested on another car and vcds/laptop is all good.
Never had this problem before.

What does VCDS Port Test show for CAN, K1, K2? Also VBat, VIgn?

I’m guessing that K1 short to ground could be the problem ?

Once again, thank you MMI for nudging me in the right direction.
Non standard stereo was messing with K1 and I found a corroded/broken pin in the air bag module plug. I haven’t got a way of replacing the pin so I bypassed the plug.
All working as it should.
