Summer Camp 2026 - 17th - 19th July 2026 - Please read

Hi All,

We are looking at the weekend 24-26 July 2026 for summer camp.

We are considering Brook Meadow but are looking for alternative venues as well.

What would really help is if we can get some firm numbers together which would make it easier when we talk to sites.

Please reply to this post by the end of September if you would be prepared to commit and potentially part with cash (to a campsite) for that weekend.

Hi Sasquatch / all,

Let me broaden this out then. I think there are some questions that we need to find out the answers for to see how we can best organise this event. Please could I ask members to respond to the below questions:

1. Would you be interested in coming to Summer Camp if it was held on the weekend of 24-26 July 2026?

2. Would you not attend if the venue is Brook Meadow?

3. Once the venue is chosen, assuming members are happy with it, would you be prepared to book/pay for the event (either direct with the site or via the forum) in the near future?

Apologies in advance for the adhoc nature of this thread - just making it up as I go.

Brook meadow is ok…..but a change could be good …if possible safe walking/ cycling routes from new location
You’ll always get T&C’s

But the over riding factor for us……it’s the people that make the event and where ever we end up …it’ll be right

Well it would only be T32’s there as we all know there the best and the only suitable base for a camper due to there weight carrying capability

And don't forget 4motion. It was drizzling earlier, none of us would get to the campsite without it.

Hell, anyone with a 2wd T28 may as well just give up and buy a tent anyway.

2. Within 2 ish hrs radius of Derbyshire, then I don't care where it is - we are there for the atmosphere / jollies / music / beer regardless of who actually owns the grass the other 362 days of the year.

1. Dates are dodgy for us, daughters birthday on 26th and looks like back and forth to Glasgow Uni with said daughter, no more kids for us.
1a. That could and probably will change (apart from the kid thing)
2. I won't go to BM again sadly.
3. Happy to commit should opportunity arise (but not to have more kids).
3a. I have a T31 and a big FO tent....

Whilst I really like Yorkshire (& have worked in Yorkshire for the last 30 odd years) & visit it regularly for fun times, I reside in Derbyshire.
