Stupid question, please help.

Thanks Ben. It’s blank all the time. With and without EHU…I understand the solar won’t be charging it given the weather. The vault reader in the cabin is also looking faulty so I’m assuming there isn’t enough power. Would that be right?

Thanks jog, would you change it out
Given that the cheapest of cheap has gone in there, I would. Even on my brand new caravan, the eyes on the lad in the workshop lit up when I suggested swapping the installed charger for a Victron! “I’ll spec it, you buy it and I’ll fit it for free during a service! Don’t buy it through the dealer as they’ll put a massive markup on it!” His opinion!!!

Thanks mate. I’ll look into it. So, we think it’s the unit that’s failed and not the leisure battery that’s drained. I’ve ordered a new volt meter for the cabin and that was only 9 pound on Amazon so I’m assuming mate the installer used a few cheap parts that I’m going to find out in coming months i guess

Personally that would worry me, if he's willing to use the cheapest of the cheap things like that, what else have they skimped on... And this is for electrics

Yeah, I get that. Looking into it now. Just can’t work out why part of the display has gone and fuses have blown. I’m no expert buts it’s stumped me. Only one of the blade fuses lights up when I remove it aswell.

I mean it's pretty much guesswork without a voltmeter if you can see that the fuses are fine, but either way would invest in a better/quicker charger

Thank you mate. I’m looking at them now. I’ll get leisure battery tested tomorrow to rule out that being flat. Joys of camper life!!! Got to love it

At least you’ll know what has got me in and how it has gone in….makes for an easier life going forward!!!

I mean even if it was flat, that shouldn't have an effect on the trickle charger in the sense that the trickle charger is powered by the mains? Not an expert but I would expect it to do something

Thinking about it, that makes sense. The trickle charger won’t be powered by the leisure battery will it. It will be before it in the setup. I think it may just be a rubbish charger. Looking at it all today

Yeah it charges the battery.....

Therefore if you are on hook up power, the problem is either going to be before the trickle charger or the charger itself.
