Stop Over Recommendations in France on arrived from Folkestone.

Hi. I am arriving late afternoon in France via Folkestone in January (1st trip ) and I am looking for somewhere safe and quite to stay overnight not too far from the port.

Help and suggestions much appreciated.

Frankly I’d steer well clear of the French ports as that’s where migrants congregate to ‘hitch’ a lift. An hours drive outside is probably a better option. Most towns have free aire for vans.

We always use

Camping Sainte Claire à Neufchâtel en Bray​

About 2hrs from calais port .
The main site is closed (as you will find alot of france is that time of year) but they have a 'camping car' next door thats basically a mini site (about 20 pitches) with a car park style entry and exit system.
Neufchatel-en-bray is a great place for a few days to help you find your feet .
Toilets, showers, ehu, water and waste for about 15€ a night

There's spaces for campervans by the side of the river in Ypres on Leopold III Laan, or the Campsite at Camping Jeugstadion nearby. 95km (1h 15min) from the Chunnel exit.
Last Post at the Menin Gate is a must.

The one in bold is good. Stayed there last year and very close to the town centre. Its now called "Urban Gardens Ieper"
