Not sure to be honest, I've got a TSI which has AC condenser, air to air intercooler and coolant rad. I'm assuming yours is TDI in which case I think the cooling set up is slightly more complicated but as above if there's no leaks then there's no need to replace unless you want to.

Depends on which engine, if you have the charge cooler on top of the engine, you don’t have an intercooler. otherwise the intercooler is the top one at the front.

The intercooler has a large hose centrally at each end @Pauly sent me this picture recently, they are about £150
