Steering wheel help t6 to t6.1 upgrade

I have a t6 with the basic steering wheel with no functions. My camper has cruise control, discovery media, auto lights and I have found a newer t6.1 steering wheel with all mfsw functions, comes complete with airbag aswell.

Would this be a direct fit or will I require anything else to make it fit etc please? Any help from anyone in the know is appreciated!

Thats not for a T6, it will only work properly on a T6.1

Thanks, are you able to advise which ones do fit and if they are direct replacements? I have seen flat bottom polo mfsw that I would be happy with or even golf gti style ones too?

Hi All,

Late to the thread and slightly different question but just bought a badge for my t6.1 22 highland and didn't realise I have to 'Partially remove airbag'. Part is this; Genuine VW New R Logo Black Steering Wheel Trim Insert - Vanstyle

Does the airbag just pull forward? Any advice appreciated as I've always shied away from anything to do with airbags

there are catches holding the air bag at the rear, you have to turn the wheel 90 degrees and release the first clip then turn it 90 the other way to release the second clip
