Start stop error ttying to trace wiring

Update on mine, put it into the local auto electical garage= result. He traced fault to broken wire just down from the alternator in the wire harness. Looks like the wires inside the corrugated ducting can be rubbing almost like sandpaper. Anyways all sorted and Start/Stop working again and hopefully the charging circuits all back to full working order.

Sounds like the conduit bore is too rough and / or the insulation is too thin.
Unless the van is in bits rectifying this is a big job.
You could spray silicone grease through the conduit bore to reduce the friction and chaffing, preferably before it fails.
