Spare wheel

Hi all, I wondered if anyone could help. On my van I have Tomahawk Outlaw 17" alloys + GM off-road tyres (245/65R 17 XL). Will my steel spare wheel 205/65R 16 C be suitable/compatible if I ever needed it? As a temporary measure of course. Thanks

Did it come as standard on 17" rims ? I.e. will a 16 fit over the front brakes ?
Is it a 4 motion ?
Its generally good practice to match the rolling radius of the spare .

Hey JumpShip, I bought it after the 17" rims were put on it but based on the spare being 16" I assume this was one of the original ones?
No it's not 4 motion

I found 205/75 16 to be a match to the MM for my size diameter (235/55 18) and likely very close for yours. Have a play with Bav's link.

Depends how far you want to go on the spare really, my T5 had 235/55/19 on, had to use the standard 16" spare to get the tyre sorted, couldn't even tell it was on there, made no difference to drive and handling (back wheel).

Agreed, its comparable to cars having a space saver spare. Ok `temporarily, but I wouldn't run for a long time.
