SoS - Door card assembly

So not sure if I've messed up but I can't work out what to do...

Currently sound deadening the outer door skin and this section of the lock mechanism*? Has detached from the rear of the door skin and catch find a way to re-attach.

Suggestions and solutions if you can help before the wife finds out I'm at a loss

It will be fine, it's something you can remove the mechanism and lock housing in one go with the inner skin, but you have to remove the handle and lock screws first. I did the same thing its no biggy

Ok so just leave it loose?

Didn't want to shut the door and the lock not work or something like that!

If you wiggle it a bit then it will release from the licking mechanism. It’s only a tab holding it in. I did the same when I did the soundproofing and everything works fine after I removed it
