Solar Sheds & Other Non-t6 Solar Projects - How We Done It -

It has always surprised me that my 3kWh roof panels only generate 7% more in June, July and August than in March, April and May (based on 13 years records).

It always seems that the skies are clearer in Spring than in the Summer, and that even on a clear summer’s day, the heat haze in the sky reduces the sun’s power.

That’s my experience though I am no meteorologist…
Also, and perhaps ironically, solar panel efficiency drops with temperature.

It's not unusual to get your peak efficiency in the "shoulder" seasons where you get decent sun hours and elevation but the air is cooler and there tends to be a breeze.

Balcony/Plug-in solar regs, after 27/8....

Basically, only 'kits' are allowed, no cobbling together inverters from one manufacturer, panels from another, and a cable from elsewhere. Even if all the above are UK compliant, if its not bought as a kit, its illegal.

You cannot store generated solar energy in a home battery and then feed it into your house grid. (This may change as Octopus are already pushing their own home batteries (Nook)).

Microinverters must be limited to 800w output to the grid. Ecoflows can be set to either 800 or 1200w, so may be in trouble
