Snatchy clutch

Afternoon all,

I’m curious if there is any adjustment on the clutch of my 68 plate Shuttle? It’s done 35k and I’m finding that I have to pull away in 1st gently, if I try to set off with a little speed the power delivery is a bit fierce, a like the clutch bite is too short and it’s snatching away.

The clutch seems fine otherwise, I live on a hill and I get a tiny bit of clutch judder when pulling away from cold that stops almost immediately after the engines warm. I’ve also put in in 5th going up a hill and there is no slippage at all. The clutch bite is roughly half way.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Cheers.

Trying reversing up a steep hill with some load, that’s a good test for a clutch.

I had the judder when cold or very hot but all ok after a new flywheel.
Just started again after 25000 miles so will need another soon. I think it’s a VW thing.

Not sure it is a VW thing, my 2016 180ps with 54K miles has been fine.
I know that there are reports of premature failure but there is no reason why you shouldn’t expect well in excess of 100K miles out of a clutch.
If it’s failing at 25-30K miles on a stock van it’s not fit for purpose.
