Hi all new to the forum just joined today.
We have a T6 space camper by Bilbos. It has sliding windows on both sides. We are at present in Cornwall on holiday and in the middle of some very wet weather. Both the side windows are leaking a little.
I wonder if anyone else has had a problem.
Thanks para

I had issue with one side leaking, returned to dealer and they removed window cleaned and lubed seals and all seems ok now but only been a week or two so time will tell

Thanks for that I will have to pop in when we get back home.
Best way I found was to open window clean the seal really well .Then put some silicone lubricant or Vaseline round the seals this cured mine .Also make sure the drain hole is clear ,some fine wire pushed down should work .

oooh, is Vaseline a good idea? won't petroleum based lubes degrade the seals? happy to be corrected if I've got this wrong?

This isn't wet... this is liquid Cornish sunshine!

I read somewhere about using Vaseline so not sure I haven't tried it ,but I had the silicone lubricant ,which you can buy from plumber merchants .

yep, silicon grease/spray; and drainage holes. Had them on the t5 Vel PITA; I don't need them, so ditched them on the t6, good call imo.

Thanks all for the advise I've got some silicone spray so I'll try that in the morning if the Cornish liquid sun goes in.
I wasn't complaining about the wet. We are from Yorkshire so I'm used to it.

No probs Para J.......welcome to the forum! Btw, it's raining up here in Yorkshire too!

Had the same problem, took it back to the dealer too and they sorted it. Touch wood it's all good.

Lookind at buying curtains for the side windows, the ones I'm looking at are for a T5, is there any difference between that and a T6 side window sizes?

Why is everyone so obsessed with the seals!!!

Yes I know if you stop the seals leaking there will be no wet in the vehicle.

BUT the real problem has always been that the drain system from the slide grove does not work, usually because it is either blocked or not correctly assembled / bonded in place under the lower slide cover. The little hole in the front of slide (and the one that you cannot see in the centre) should channel any water that passes the glass seal to the outside of the vehicle. However from experience this drain (or these drains) are not correctly assembled behind the lower cover and allow water to leak inside the vehicle.
VW have known of this problem for many years but not bothered to fix it.

I have had a number of windows replaced on three previous T5s without total success so and maybe the our T6 will be the same. There have been modified versions of the window slide issued but the even latest ones don't seem to be 100% successful.

I'm looking to fit a slider and a fixed ,any idea of the better quality ones? the vw ones look quality with the flush fit but dammed expensive and don't seem to come in limo tint anyway.
