Signed off and need to go camping

Been signed off work for a while and swmbo wants me to take off in the van with or without my bike for a night, or two if I feel like it. Does anybody have recommendations within about an hour of Sandbach Cheshire where I can either go walking or take my bike on light trails. Wild camping or campsites.

Sounds great advice from swmbo (so take it if on offer) - don’t know the area but always found away in the van anywhere recharges life’s batteries.

Brow Farm at Ratlinghope would be my preference. Easier cycling accents onto the Long Mynd, an equally good pub at The Bridges, and generally less town folk about.

I had lunch in The Druid last weekend. It did close for a short while but it reopened under new management earlier this year.

That's good to hear, we have been a few times and it was always full of folk, food was lovely and last time we went, had Kelham Island Brewery beers on tap!

Thanks guys im actually starting to feel excited, which is new for me. Just took delivery of a BLUETTI AC50B which should be perfect for my/our needs. Really nice bit of kit and a bit of a bargain.

Just completed our first camp at Dale Farm in the Peaks. Weather was amazing and it all went well except I let my hair down a little too much on the first night resulting in a wee hangover the next day

It was snug but cosy !
