Signed off and need to go camping

Been signed off work for a while and swmbo wants me to take off in the van with or without my bike for a night, or two if I feel like it. Does anybody have recommendations within about an hour of Sandbach Cheshire where I can either go walking or take my bike on light trails. Wild camping or campsites.

Thankyou in advance.

Sounds great advice from swmbo (so take it if on offer) - don’t know the area but always found away in the van anywhere recharges life’s batteries.

Small Batch Campsite, Little Stretton.

Straight on to the Long Mynd.

Two pubs, the Green Dragon is excellent.
Brow Farm at Ratlinghope would be my preference. Easier cycling accents onto the Long Mynd, an equally good pub at The Bridges, and generally less town folk about.

I'd heard The Druid Inn has closed but the other pub, The Red Lion is still open. Looking online The Druid is still going?
I had lunch in The Druid last weekend. It did close for a short while but it reopened under new management earlier this year.

Just completed our first camp at Dale Farm in the Peaks. Weather was amazing and it all went well except I let my hair down a little too much on the first night resulting in a wee hangover the next day 😀

It was snug but cosy !
