Roof Insulation

Apologies if this has been covered before and I have tried search.

I’m trimming the inner roof panel for a HiLo roof and have noticed there is quite a bit of dead space above the panel has anyone filled this with insulation (lightweight of course ) It seems the obvious thing to do, that’s where all the heat ends up and escapes, or is a waste of time as the heat will escape through the tent sides?

It's escape from the tent sides for sure when popped. Would probably be good when down tho.

Do you keep a mattress up there? If so that may take up the space (and provide some insulation by default anyway)

Thanks... I hadn't thought about it down... I don't know what, if anything will be left up yet.. I'm still trimming it out and I haven't seen how much space will be left.

Think you have 12mm between the cross bars and the ply board..
You can get 12mm closed cell foam from various places and HIGH Temp spray glue it between.. how ever it may not be noticeable due to canvas, a canvas cover may help with this??

You could always hire a heat radar gun and see where heat loss is most and tackle that..
