Can the black warning line be coded out as its hiding the vision of the tow ball?
Cheers folks20201020_103529.jpg20201020_103541.jpg

I doubt it could be removed? Is there no way of altering the camera instead?

If it can not be done and the angle not be improved upon. Then perhaps, a mirror of some sort mounted on the trailer, angled to give the best view. Might That do? A bit of a faff and it might need to be unbreakable also.

Cheers folks. Im going to alther the angle just to see what the effect is. Trouble is the camera housing wont be sealed against the paintwork so another issue created by solving one.
@Deaky any ideas about the coding potential??

To hitch a trailer on accurately....not for parking.
Even with the banding removed it still doesn't quite pick up the towball, does it?

Maybe a cranked mirrored surface that you could fit behind number
plate when you need to hitch that would allow you to see the full hitch?

It sees the whole 50mm of the ball to be honest...plenty to gauge where you are on the hitch. Im going to play around with the contrast and colour settings to see if it alters the "see throughness" of the line.

Don't you have the little button to change the view to 'towbar'?

It changes the view to look down at the hitch, with the hitch at the top of the screen, I can even see the number plate on mine.

I should state that I fitted the camera myself, but it's an OEM one.

There’s no coding on a T6, not sure bout T6.1 though

There is coding to do with the camera on a T6.1, I had to do it on mine to get the retrofit working.

I bought my camera here;
There's 2 camera options 'high line' and 'low line', I bought the 'high line' one. I'm not sure what the factory fitted one is.

Have a look here;

Highline cameras have a module that needs coding, lowline cameras have no code able module.

Great replies folks. Its a lowline camera on a 6.1. It doesn't have the towbar option as T6Jay mentioned. Bloody frustrating as its the only reason I had the camera.
I'll have a good look on Saturday when I have the time and keep you updated.

It might be of small interest. I pressure washed the rear end of my T6 Exec and the camera angle changed. I now see the top edge of the number plate, when I did not before. I am not suggesting that you do that o_O but it shows that their is some movement available. If you did manage to adjust the angle down, you could always seal any gap with vascoline or silicon grease.

I did not inspect the situation thoroughly. It is just possible it was the number plate that moved away from its sticky backing not the lens. Be careful you do not damage anything.

See if you can flog the lowline and buy a highline? If the looms are similar it's an easy job?

If you are ever near chorley/preston you are welcome to try my camera on your van.
