Standard VW fuse block, normally housed in another plastic carrier along front of seatbase: That fuse will, most likely, be for 12V sockets (some or all).Does anyone know what this is? Under the front passenger seat....View attachment 306731
We would definitely look at this for you. However we are on an annual break at the moment, when is your mot book ?@Absolut5 is this something you can look at for me? Im Ludgershall way, im at my wits end with it
I missed my initial slot last week, it runs out on MondayWe would definitely look at this for you. However we are on an annual break at the moment, when is your mot book ?
As Phil says from module 09 blockmap on my van NOT in reverse. I would expect that to show active when in reverse...Ideally you need someone with vcds (vagcom) to check the Transmission control unit is seeing reverse, when selecting reverse.
I suspect you'd get warning lights relating to a gearbox issue if it isn't..
Then check in the body control module -09- to see if that is getting a reverse signal to activate the feed to the reverse lights.
If it is, and it thinks it should be sending the voltage to the reverse lights.. then it needs checking at the connection coming out of the body control unit to actual make sure a voltage is being sent out.
If there is no voltage coming out of the body control unit, then there is something wrong with the body control unit (as long as earths / feeds are ok to the body control unit)
If there is a voltage coming out of the body control unit, and it's showing that it sees its in reverse.. then the wiring to the rear wants checking.
The clue to finding the fault is realistically based on whether 09 sees reverse or not.

We are back now..Had an auto spark out today and couldnt work out the issue, the saga continues......
Im thinking of buying this package.

Do this for when in and the out of reverse.
[VCDS]
[Applications]
[Controller Channel Map]
- Controller Address = 09
- Login or security code: Leave blank
- Function: Measuring values
- Output: CSV file
[Go]
The result CSV-file is saved into dircetory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs
Seach in the blockmap files for the line where it shows the reverse switch active/not active
i fear this means no signal being sent from the BCU?

I fear this confirms no signal from the BCU?
I did have a go at the plugs under the front passenger seat with a multimeter and got no readingsIt doesn't confirm zero output from the BCM, at least not until you have checked voltage coming out on the specific pin no. for reverse..
Can you send me your chassis no over pm, and ill look up what wire you need to be checking.
You can do this with a multimeter.
That will let you know where to go next - continuity / resistance checks.
