Reverse cam Vagcom

I have fitted a Vagcom Reverse cam to my 2016 Highline T6. Followed all the instructions correctly, triple checked through various threads and google searches, both codes are enabled under VCDS too. When I put in into reverse the Discover Media screen goes to the reverse view with park pilot on the left, settings on the right but will not display the video feed. After a few seconds the screen cuts off and says ParkPilot not available but still provides the audio warning.

I have had a garage independently check the fit, they confirmed that everything is correctly fitted with correct voltages and also a video feed being produced by the camera using a digital rear view mirror.

The only thing we can think of is either a problem with the head unit or the reverse signal being taken from the reverse light live cable where is may have to be plugged into the back of the head unit?

Can anyone here offer any advice please?

Seems like you've checked most things. I did a retrofit reversing camera, and it does same as yours, parking pilot mimic on the LHS and audio tones. I only got the park pilot not available message when I later coded a towbar on too.

I guess you have to rule out the head unit. Find some way to rig up a composite video out from an old DVD player or similar and get that on the pins on the back of the head unit, whilst taking the reverse signal hi (just put in reverse). I guess it could well be a duff head unit....
