Central hole above where a rear quarter side window would go. In line with holes already used for trim clips and ‘feels’ the same diameter when feeling through the carpet.

Can anyone confirm the diameter? I know this isn’t the best information and a picture would be super useful, but if I could easily get to it to take a picture I’d measure it!

Panel van or a Kombi?
SWB or LWB?
Manufacture year?

Not sure why you can’t access it but can’t you go oversize and drill to suit?

I’ve put rivnuts in those holes before, can’t remember the size off hand but I remember one size was sloppy in the hole so I had to enlarge the hole slightly to get the next size in

In order to clear away the carpet without changing the metal hole diameter too much, run a countersink bit in reverse to 'burn' away the carpet. The bit will self centre in the hole and clear the carpet away from the edges.

Ps memory tells me it's 8mm, but don't quote me on that (unless it's right)

Thanks. I’ll pull the panels off and cut the carpet away around the hole. Just mega busy at the moment. Fingers crossed for no broken trim clips 🤞

The holes circled looks like the ones used to trim clip ply panels to. I found an M6 rivnut fits nicely in those with slight enlargement. I did notice that different supplier M6 rivnuts do vary slightly in size.

Didnt try the reverse countersink bit trick, used a soldering iron to burn the carpet back a bit.

Slap bang between an M5 and M6 rivnut. I really wanted to avoid drilling.
Ordered some neoprene well nuts. M4 thread and 8mm OD. Will see how the go.

There's a threaded hole there for the rear bench seatbelt, could be it's that?
Same on my van - there are the holes fro the panelling but also another threaded hole for the rear seatbelt - It is threaded with a std seatbelt UNF thread (not metric)

I did wonder but it seemed to far forward. I expected a seatbelt top mount to be somnewhere in line with the backrest of third seat, whereas this is just forward of a line from the center of the wheel arch. I will double check though. Aside from getting correct bolts, it would be far simpler.

Second row seat belt mount is in the C pillar, if you've got one further back it could be for third row seats I suppose, don't think mine has those.

The hole I circled above is not threaded. Exactly the same as all the trim clip holes. Accepted a noprene well nut nice and snug and tightened up great. Those well nuts are great. Loosen them off and they come back out - unlike rivnuts.
