Renogy one and app

Hi all, I’ve recently finished my electrics in the van. I’ve gone for all Renogy thinking of ease as they’ll all talk to each other. I’ve been having issues connecting to the one core whilst away from my WiFi at home. Also when driving it’s saying it’s not charging but when I stop and check, it has been charging. It’s driving me crazy. I have the ign wire connected and checked through all the wiring. Has anyone had this issue with the phone app?

You got WiFi in the van?

Or you connecting via blue tooth?

When I run it all I used the WiFi in the van...

I initially connected via WiFi in the house so I could update the one core but it’s meant to switch to Bluetooth once I’m away from WiFi but it doesn’t happen. No WiFi in the van
Everything works in the van but just annoying if I want to check it on my phone

Have you connected to renogy kit via Bluetooth?

I needed to use a BT1 renogy Bluetooth adapter to the dcdc, then connected the battery via rs485 cable.

So what happens when you connect direct with BT?

Nice one thanks. That’s an interesting read. I’ll turn my one core off and then try the app

Other option is to add WiFi in the van.

Couple of things come to mind, the app is pretty terrible for showing old information and I find shutting it down and reopening is worth trying first. If your away from your home and no wifi in the van then you need to change in app to use a direct connection but it does not show my core one only the individual Renogy kit with bluetooth.

I’ve worked all that out now. Exactly how you mentioned. It’s not a great app. I’m really happy with the system and how it works, it’s just the interface side of it is a bit of a nightmare.

The ONE is WiFi only.

It's good kit.

But if you want the ultimate for monitoring, then look at swapping it for victron.
