Hello.
I have a Renogy DCC50S charging my AGM leisure battery from both my engine & solar suitcase (for off grid camping). I rarely use the PV but last time I tried it it wasn't charging the battery through the DCC50S. Luckily I always carry the separate croc connectors to the PV output leads. Now I have a little time I'm trying to debug the issue.
My solar PV gives an output when connected to the battery direct (Crocs) but not when put through the Anderson connectors through the Renogy DCC50S. I double checked the connection between the PV connectors to the DCC50S using my multimeter connectivity and there are no breaks. I temporarily put the PV through it's own small Solar Charge Controller (SCC), which is how I can see there is no output, it shows 601 fault, I.e. open output. With direct connection the SCC shows charging, but through the DCC50S no charging. The app shows nothing on solar but does show charging when the engine in running.
Has anyone suffered this too and if so can you offer any advice on if the DCC50S is faulty and perhaps how you remedied the issue please?
The light on the front of the DCC50S shows green tick, amber battery status, dark PV and dark engine which does light up when the engine in running.
