Removal of Side Bars

Quick question... I've had my side bars on my T6 for ~8 years, and they're worse for wear! Before I replace them, i'm keen to take them off entirely and see if I prefer the van without bars! Do I need to do anything to fill holes when I remove the fixings (particularly if I decide not to replace them and keep the van without bars?
Thanks!

You'll need 8 of these rubber bungs to plug the holes in your side cills.

I don't know the VW name or part number I'm sorry.

Don't suppose anyone has any of these bungs knocking around, having removed them to add sidebars?

I would somehow keep the fixings in place if they are reusable and you decide on new bars … they are a pain to fit into the holes
That's actually an interesting point. They were fitted originally, so I never actually fitted them myself. So I hadn't really considered that the fixings might be separate to the bars!

Thanks

If as your profile picture suggests - the side bars came from Leightons, then they are in 4 parts, as below shot.
The bars just bolt to the brackets, with M10 (17mm A/F spanner) or M12 (19mm A/F spanner) bolts.
With them beiong on for 8 years, I'd spray with penetrating oil 1st.
They may even shear straight off.
