Red wires under passenger seat

Hi all,

Does anyone know what is fed from the 12v permanent live under the passenger seat?

I have a big red wire that is permanent 12v, there is a thinner wire that goes through a fuse holder to the dash 12v socket.

There is one other red wire that is medium sized compared to the other two wires, checked with multi meter and it is dead. Everything works as far as I know but would be nice to know where it is coming from or what it should be feeding. The end is taped off.

To sum it up, three wire come up under seat.
1x permanent 12v (thick wire)
1x feed to 12v dash socket (thin wire)
1x unknown (medium wire)

Thank you.

I have same setup I think. There are two 12v sockets in the dash, one by the gear stick, other on the top by the windscreen. Did you figure the two red wires fed these independently, and that one wasn’t actually connected up (fused)?

Yes, that’s correct. Checked continuity on the one on top of the dash and found it was correct so connected it back up and now it works

I’ve just got the one 20A fuse in the board under the passenger seat, so presumed it fed both 12v sockets. Maybe not!

Not entirely sure what you mean here, but I close everything (slider and tailgate) manually if that help? Neither are powered.

Not sure what the 20a fuse will be for then, I know if you have electric doors then there is a 20a fuse is under the passenger seat
