Recently purchased a pair of Audi RS4 Recaros for a good price
Now I need to think about how to fit them :(
I know that I will need to adapt the frame but they are full electric operation There is even a rear footwell light
There are 3 plugs under the seat I assume that they are for heating ,airbag and movement
Which ones are which ?
Does the T6 Highline/Sportline Kombi have seat airbags ?
Will the existing seat plugs match the van plugs
What extra wiring might I need
I haven't ordered the van yet so can't look myself IMG_1218.JPGIMG_1217.JPG

You need to find what each plug does to be able to match up with vw

Yellow plugs with metal double lock click thing are for seat airbags
Seat heating normally only has 3/4 wires in it ( which I’m guessing is the green one ?)
No experience of electric seats so can’t help there but sure we can figure it out when the time comes

Does the T6 have side airbags as standard ?

It can be a flippin nightmare swapping around seats from newer, modern vehicles.

Many seats have different ways in which certain functions are controlled.
Heated seats are a good example of this.

However, the biggest issue you are likely to face is with the seats occupency sensing.

Most vehicles with air bags have occupency sensors in the base.
By way of resistance, these sensors can relay information back to the airbag system. They can even can even sense a persons weight and seating position, and in the event of a colloision, deploy the airbags accordingly. ( full deployment or partial deployment ).

Another function of the drivers occupency sensor is in connection with a vehicles Stop/Start system.

I the new seats occupency sensor does not use the same values as the original, then it may throw a fault, and would certainly render the S/S system inoperable.

Of course, the simplest way round this is to strip the seat covers of and swap over the sensor pads, but it is quite a lot of work.

If needs be I can source the wiring diagrams for the donor vehicle and get the pin outs for the seats
