Rear numberplate lights not working

Hi, my rear numberplate bulbs weren’t working, led from prior owner. I’ve swopped them and still nothing. Is there a fuse ? Other lights are ok.

I have just under 12 v at the connections on the bulbs. Which I’m guessing means it’s the bulbs. Which means the old bulbs I had had gone and the new ones have too. Note the are led. Does it need normal filament bulbs ?

I think it is a complete unit that gets changed and quite expensive for what they are!

LED bulbs are normally polarity sensitive, so if they dont work one way try flipping them around.

Not sure if possible but I had a bulb out on my custom. Got replacement led complete units for around £15 for pair from memory from Amazon. Super bright. No fault codes etc. may be worth a shout? I had quick look and sure you could get ones to fit....

It’s very odd, I’ve got the old style bulbs which were standard and tried them, still don’t work. I’ll have a look at the polarity on the leds. It’s odd both aren’t working

If two sets of bulbs aren’t working it’s not the bulbs.
Use a multimeter across the bulb holder and check for voltage, if nothing connect the multimeter to a temporary ground on the chassis and check for voltage.

If its the same as our t5.1 then the contacts on the bulb holders fail .
They push back when you push the bulb holder into place.
I soldered wires on the bulbs and straight onto the contact wires ...job done !
