New member / first post… Thought I’d share today’s experience of replacing the awful DSG shifter on my 2023 T6.1. The button was rattling and driving me mad (I found myself keeping light finger pressure on it on rough surfaces just to shut it up).
@Kev.O sold me a new shifter from DSG Paddles, which he’d attached to a gaiter / trim from a manual gearbox. Kev had been unlucky on his installation, and I was feeling brave.
It was pretty straightforward in the end, so I attach a photo of the finished result, and here’s a link to a YouTube video (awful quality - sorry) in the hope someone might benefit from it. The last 10 seconds are good quality iPhone footage if you manage to get that far.
And naturally, the old knob is available, if anyone’s looking for one.
