Random starting fault on cold morning

I am looking g for advice… my T6 16 plate 150bhp Deisel cut out and wouldn’t start a few days ago.

As it was a heavy frost, I went out and started both my T6 and my wife’s car and then proceeded to scrape all the windows on both while the engines were running.
The engine was probably running for 10 minutes.
I then turned off the engine, locked the van door and then went back inside my house for 15 minutes before returning, unlocking, starting normally, and then driving off down my road. During a gear change at a junction 300 meters from start the engine stoped and would not restart.
Battery fine, turn over fine, just would get going.
No warning light at all. Just the usual during startup procedure.
I left it at the road side for an hour before returning and it started as normal.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
