Question: Are the larger speakers in the front doors compatible?

I'm in the middle of fitting my replacement passenger door and the new door has a larger speaker than the old door. The connector appears the same. It fits the Trendline PV door card. Will it work if the driver's side is not a big speaker?

The speaker is riveted in, so not easy for me to change.

Ah...i think the answer is for me to swap my door assembly into the new door, complete with speaker

I should imagine, that it is ohms rating that is the most important value. That the new values are not very different in magnitude from the old. Not the physical size of the speaker but t he restive efficiency. I am more used to mucking about with domestic Hi-Fi.

Yeah, I was concerned about something like that, or whether the bigger speaker needed an amp or active crossover. But the simplest thing was to retain my assembly carrier which also meant I didn't have to remove the electric window motor. Job done now, will post a guide later

Where about are you from? If its not too far I would swap the speaker cones its not too hard, just need a drill and a riveter.

Thanks, that's kind. I kept my carrier assembly and hence smaller speaker instead

The new one is off a Caravelle or similar. The door speakers are usually bigger on them. To keep it even best to swap over your old one, or whilst apart a good time to upgrade and sound deaden. Makes a massive improvement.
