Problem closing RIB bed

My friend is having trouble closing his bed He has managed to close it so far and then the left hand hinge will no longer unlock when the lever on the right is pulled. The covers were recently upgraded to the fancy tan leather but it has been working since then.

Any ideas on how this could be fixed or how the mechanism works (checked mine and it’s all hidden inside the seat).

Found this instruction so he can try follow the original installation instructions, although he has just reminded me that the left side of the bed is now not moving at all so could be problematic

@cgtmiles I don't know if this will help but I had a problem with the middle section of my RIB bed and it was purely down to lack of maintenance nothing mechanical so a couple of drops of sewing machine oil on any bits that should move and everything was sorted,I hope this may help

Thanks for the suggestion but he has tried lubricating and it didn’t help

Any other thoughts on how this could be resolved? Or detail on the design?

Looks like the mechanism is inside the seat base?

Or at least the seat cushion needs removing to get to it....

So something wrong there....


Looks like back to the people who don't the cover s.


Or

Remove the cover himself to see what's stick in there.
