Potential New T6 Owner

Evening all.

As per the title, I am a potential new T6 owner lurking on your forum!

I am a wheelchair user and have been able to get myself and my chair in and out of various 4x4's over the last 10 years however my new powered chair is a lot heavier (200kg!) meaning I'm in the market for something larger.

Always had a soft spots for Transporters so here I am. I don't know a huge amount besides knowing I'll be buying new, I want a grey one and i'll need a ramp/lift fitting as well as a lowered floor and movable seats enabling me to drive from my chair (as well as the usual hand control malarky)

I'm here to get more info on T6's as there seems to be a million or more options and as I'll be buying new I'd like to make the most informed choice. I am also from the 'Max Power' generation and have had previous with modding cars so this is something I'm hoping to get back into also!

Thoroughly enjoying reading through the forum and will undoubtedly update everyone to as to any progression!

Have a wonderful evening

As soneone without a transporter but searching sites everyday. There are quite a few caravelles that are on ebay (ready converted. one is even converted for the driver). Various different entry options.

Might be worth a look. See if you like anything??

Yep I'd have thought you'd buy one already converted by specialist mobility converters?

Nothing gets more 'Max Power' than the awesome Indium Grey T6 owned by @Leeroy33, and his wheelchair mods are well worth a look.

There is a few images of his on this page Team Grey but if you go through Team Grey, there's quite a few more of him making the rest of us look like we are just playing at this Transporter thing :(

@Bryn23 has an amazing build thread on here, really inspirational and amazing engineering skills. He's not in the UK but should give you some amazing ideas on what you can do.

Thanks for the responses chaps.

@Stewby @True Romance - I want to buy new for a couple of reasons really - I'd like the T6.1 which was revealed earlier in the year, I'd begrudge spending a fortune on something for it to be replaced with a more up-to-date model a few weeks later. The main reason for buying new however is the VAT - As a permanent wheelchair user I do not pay VAT on a new vehicle or any adaptations fitted at that time.

@Tourershine @$immo - Thanks guys, checking both out as we speak!

Ah, I didn't know that sort of thing. :)

Is Bryn the amazing Aussie who is doing the stunning conversion on here?? Used to be a cabinet maker.
