Along the same lines... Does anyone have a list of Reimo roof installers, preferably in the North East (Durham/North Yorkshire/West Yorkshire) ?

Not quite in the area you wanted but I went to have a look round this place as part of my search for a window installer. They install Reimo.

AJC Conversions Ltd | VW Camper Conversion Company

I was pretty impressed, they were willing to show me round and have a good look at the vans they were doing and seemed very thorough.

We went to look at them. They had a newly converted van ready for customer collection, when Mrs Spuds pointed out the uneven gaps around the furniture doors & the poor finish on the carpeting. She stated that we would expect better, the owner turned to us, and said “if that’s the level of finish quality you’re looking for, maybe we aren’t the converters for you” I kid you not. We walked out.

Thanks, I'll keep them in mind. (or not as the case may be)
The thing with roofs is that a Reimo roof is a Reimo roof, they’re all the same out of the box. The fitter makes the difference, bad fitter = bad roof, whatever the make.

I don't blame you.

Sounds like bullet dodged. “We are not the installer for you”, in other words “we are sh1t3 and yet another company that we set up cos we thought it’d be easy money, and we fleece mugs!”
At least you went and looked, which is an absolute must.

Which is why I'd prefer a fitter near to me so I can go and see if they are up to it, and be able to easily return if anything is wrong. A fitter in Wales might be the best on the planet, but I'd be stupid not to visit first to check them out, and three visits to Wales is a bit much (not that there's anything wrong with Wales, I could have said Cornwall);)

Half the problem is the (us) the punters. Most folk haven’t a clue what they’re looking at, & they get carried away with the excitement of the new van & don’t look at the details. I’m an engineer by trade & I see “the little stuff”. It’s not just vans, it’s everywhere, people settle for crap.
