Probably but there’s a gap where it joins now, more concerned about the small blisters under the seal in one area thoughwill the old seal not clean up and push back on
Blisters on the paint or seal? It’s quite common on the paint on a glass fibre roof, if it was painted less than 2 years ago you might have some warranty.Hi there, I removed my seal on the pop top today as it was in desperate need of a clean, in one small area where seal sat is a few tiny bubbles, does anyone know what I could fill them with? And also where to get a new seal from?
Thanks
Hi there, it’s from original, 4 years ago, there is only a few underneath the seal in one area, I was wondering if there’s is a way of sealing them maybe with a repair kit ?Blisters on the paint or seal? It’s due to solvent vapour forming in the laminate, you’ll find that they expand and shrink back according to the weather. If you pop the blister you will get water under the paint (it may already be there)Hi there, it’s from original, 4 years ago, there is only a few underneath the seal in one area, I was wondering if there’s is a way of sealing them maybe with a repair kit ?
Not sure who the roof is, the conversion was done by Cascade Conversions, there is one or 2 popped but I was wondering what I could fill it with to stop water getting in, it’s not worth getting it painted as it’s only small and under the seal if I can keep it water tight hopefully it will be okIt’s due to solvent vapour forming in the laminate, you’ll find that they expand and shrink back according to the weather. You could do a full paint job but there is no guarantee it won’t happen again, baking in the paint shop oven with the paint stripped should reduce the chance of reoccurrence. Major £ and hassle if you want a re-spray.
What roof manufacturer?
Most roofs the seal isn’t supposed to be glued on, just a push fit.Not sure who the roof is, the conversion was done by Cascade Conversions, there is one or 2 popped but I was wondering what I could fill it with to stop water getting in, it’s not worth getting it painted as it’s only small and under the seal if I can keep it water tight hopefully it will be ok

There is some stretch in the seal. You should be able to pull back 2-3m of seal and put a slight stretch on it when fitting it to close the gap. If you still have a gap you can do the same with the other end of the seal.Probably but there’s a gap where it joins now, more concerned about the small blisters under the seal in one area though
Seal now fitted and is how it was but it’s the few small bubbles in the gel coat that I’m concerned aboutThere is some stretch in the seal.
