Pop-top roof vent/fan installation

My top is usually fully covered; it cuts down on the wind noise and looks cleaner (IMO).
From bed to fan is 35mm but there is the manual lift knob that takes it to just 20mm in that area.
About 40% covered with the sliding panel back but still useable if we need to run it with the roof down.

Cheers for uploading the pictures. Has the video been approved? Also is the size of your one the 355 or 400?

It's a 355. I got the dims off the Nomadic Ark site and measured the section of the roof I wanted to mount it on and found the 400 would have been just a bit too big.
Instructables are dragging their heels, so I'm going to add it to a new Google Blogger post. Should be finished today.

Brilliant stuff, thank you again

Have added it to my Blogger posts. It might need a bit of polishing, but getting it out first was more important.
Mounting a Fan/Vent in Campervan Pop-up Roof
On Instructables now too!

Has anybody fitted a roof vent and floor drop outs, no fan just using natural convection?

Never heard of a floor dropout, I can imagine but that might be an open invite to all sorts of problems. Then again, so is cutting a big hole in the roof.

Slightly unrelated question.........

How did you fit the pull-down handles to your roof ? Ours is fibreglass, so I'm nervous about drilling into it / how strong the fixing would be etc.....?

Any advice?
