I've got the replacement filters for these but can't loosen the blue casing ? Is there a tool for them ?

They can be tight, sometimes 1/4 or 1/2 turn or could be fully threaded, just take your time.
I would normally use a large pair of pipe grips on the casing with a cloth wrapped around and carefully undo. They're normally just normal right hand thread.
Can be useful to soak a cloth in really hot water and wrap around the casing before you start to help expand the plastic a little.
Hope that helps

Quite often there’s a large round plastic “spanner” type thing that’s supplied when these are delivered if not the band type strap wrench will do.
When isolating water supply be sure to release the pressure by opening a tap as that makes a big difference, once pressure’s released they’ll quite often unfasten with just hand pressure.

No sign of a spanner and reluctant to buy one as there seems lots of variations for different style containers.....

Strap wrench, rubber type. Once off just refit by hand, there’s more chance of them leaking if they are over-tight and distorted.
If you don’t want to spend any money try a few wraps of cord attached to short batten for leverage.

De-pressurise and perhaps get some one to counter hold the top whilst you unscrew them as they don't look to have too strong a fixing on the wall. You don't want to wring them off the wall or twist the pipe work. You could also try a sharp tap with a hammer and block of wood on the webs right at the top of the blue bit. Usually there's an O ring in the top so put a smear of silicone grease on it when you do it back up and only just nip it hand tight, the compression of the O ring is doing the sealing not the tightness of the threads.

Still struggling to get these off. Bought some of the rubber strap wrenches but no joy. I'm maybe thinking about a strategic blow with a hammer with a block of wood against one of the ribs might have to be employed

Before reaching for the “Irish screwdriver” (aka a hammer) just have a look at things. From the pic, it looks like they can be isolated. Maybe drop them off those lightweight brackets and have a look at them on the worktop?

Yeah, I did think about doing that. I've got a pretty good wooden vice which could hold it secure whilst I give it some 'attention'.....

Where I have drawn a circle, have a look down through there to see if there is a pressure release button. If so, isolate the filter, release the pressure and unscrew!

Good call, I'd not noticed that !
Will have to wait til Wednesday when the Swiss family Robinson vacate.
Cheers

Take them off the bracket and clamp the blue bit in a workmate. You might then be able to put a bar through the top, where the pipe fittings go in, for twisting the top off.
