Particle Filter Technical Help

My dashboard particle filter light has come and I'd like some technical advice from the forum if I may.

I believe that there are few reasons why this might occur and wish to clarify these.

Would it be fair to say that using cheaper supermarket fuel might have an impact, or perhaps running the tank low prior re filling that can cause the light to come on.

Thank you once again for the forums help

For conditions turning on the DPF light have a look at --> Multiple Engine Management Faults
Having fuel light on inhibits active regen so eventually the soot level would reach the triggering point. Short runs won't help either. The full active regen takes normally about 20 mins. From cold start it takes about 6 minutes before soot level starts decreasing, so doing only such short runs would also eventually turn the DPF light on.

So would it still be fair to say that cheaper Supermarket fuels is not reflective of this fault

Both pub /internet myths IMHO. Have heard the supermarket thing for years without 1 definitive proper tested scientific result. Tank story is the same about dirt in the tank, pick up is in the bottom of the tank anyway, it doesn't have a floating donkey dick suction tube.

If the light is on you are normally not driving it long enough for the regen to happen.

To back up what others have already said, the only time it ever came on in mine was when we moved house; I did about 15 heavily loaded trips between each house which were only a mile apart.

I also spend a lot of time in Southern Europe where in my experience the fuel quality is poor. Last fuel filter I changed was gopping filthy too.
