Park and ride for Paris

We are camping next month in Saint-Valery-sur_Somme. We wanted to take a day trip into Paris one day. The train costs are around £150 return for the three of us (from Abbevile). I wondered if anyone had any experience of using something like a park and ride facility and had driven their vans to this facility.

I'd take the train. It's a 240 mile round trip, plus about £30 in tolls, plus parking. It might be slightly cheaper in the van, but the train will give you more time for your day in Paris. Plus, you won't be worried about how others park next to you.

I agree with @dubber36. The train will be much quicker and drop you right in the centre of Paris, which will maximise your time there.

I’ve found that French railways are really good with very little delays.

If you are planing on visiting the Eiffel Tower, you can book tickets in advance to reduce queuing time.

Train, however Paris in a day will be full on.:geek:
I agree, I'd stay over at least one night, preferably 2. We visited Paris a couple of years ago with French friends, so they knew the score. We had 2 nights & it was still a full on trip. Don't miss the Catacombs.

The trip to Paris is so my lad can visit PSGs ground. I went with the train option first and then saw the cost. I did look at any French family rail cards, but this apparently depends on the train provider.
