Orange Check Engine LightI

I've been recording my ongoing adblue warning saga in another thread on here (Ad-Blue - 650 mile countdown comes and then goes off) but easier today, I also had an orange check engine light appear. I plugged Carista in and it reported two engine related faults as follows:

P20EE00 - SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 Catalyst 1.
P204F00 - Reductant System Performance Bank 1

TBH, I'm generally peed off with the van keeping me on the edge of my seat when we're supposed to be on holiday enjoying ourselves (currently in Carcassonne en route for South of France). My instinct is just ignore it until we get home and then call VW Assist out so that they can do a proper VW diagnosis and then send a report into the system. We're due back early July but the van is also booked in for a service on 22 July and I have already told them that they will have the 'Adblue Spurious Readings Problem' to sort out at the same time and I hope this latest check engine light is due to the same thing. On the basis that all the spurious adblue messages will inevitably have disappeared by then, I'm also keeping a careful record of all the messages just in case.... I'm even more peed off about the adblue thing as that was supposed to have been sorted last year (by a software update) - sorted, my aris. We've probably got another 1000 - 1500 miles to go on this trip but we've also got another potentially 3500 miler planned for September so I really want its all sorted.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, fecking VWs. Of course, I could also cancel the messages with Carista but I think they're best left there until Mr VW Assist gets stuck in.

Am I doing the right thing in ignoring the orange light until I can get VW Assist out to have a look.

Did the amber light get sorted? I've just had one come on while in France and on Wednesday I'm due to do another 400 miles to get to the Pyrenees...

It actually disappeared of its own accord about 1000 miles later to reappear and disappear after about 800 more and then reappear again. By coincidence, I picked up the van from VW Swindon this morning who reckon it's all sorted once and for all. Personally, I'd be amazed if that was the case but only time will tell. It's a bit unnerving to see a light like that appear but a little bit easier to live with when you know what it's related to and, al leat in my case, that it wasn't likely to blow up the engine if I continued to drive it.

Thanks for letting me know. I am sat on a french retail park waiting for diagnosis from local garage. I also had the flashing glow plug light come on after hardish acceleration on my way here. Only had the van 4 weeks (bought from independent dealer) and had a sliding door stay shut on day one, have a coolant leak I'm having to manage on the journey and now have this issue....been a shite introduction to the T6 for me, thought I was buying into reliability, but clearly not.

They are usually reliable for at least 3 years from manufacture :fast rofl: till one day after the warranty ends.

Only kidding. Every manufacturer has complicated systems so much that there is so much more to go wrong. Hope you get it sorted.

Been to the french garage. Fault code P24AE - Particulate matter sensor. And
P00AF - Actuator Module for Turbocharger 1: Stuck.
When the glow plug lights flashes fault the start/stop system doesn't work, which I understand is often something that also happens. Any advice welcome.

I've had the orange spanner & jug warning on and a countdown from 600 miles.
Drained tank, checked pump and injector. OK. Got a VCDS package. Did all the level resets/lock to no avail. However, I got it to do a check. Engine needs to be warm and running. Under Basic settings find:
IDE04732 Check of SCR efficiency.
Takes about 10-15 mins, makes odd smells but cleared all faults. Nox and tank level issues. Hope this can help someone in the same boat.
