Opening side windows

Hi, has anyone had problems shutting side slide windows. On the sliding side door (nearside) it opens ok but is a real struggle to get it to completely shut. The plastic trims above and below the squeeze together door catches don't seem to sit in fully. I can see a spring in the bottom of the bottom trim where the plastic cover is not fully home. Just wondered if anyone has had this trouble? Thanks. (By the way it is a T6, 17 plate highline Kombi model)

I am having the exact same issue and came on here to try and work out what seal I need to replace but it does seem to be more of a mechanism issue as you can push the window in. We are getting wind noise as a result, so i am going to try replacing the handle mechanism first and give it all a clean

Had a similar issue, I know this sounds daft, but try sitting in the van with the door closed and see if the window shuts properly. This worked on my van.

What’s the other method?

Yes thats how I have identified that there is a problem. But I am trying to find out the solution! Seal? Locking unit? Any help welcome

Have you sorted out this issue and found the culprit? I have created a thread with a similar issue which may be the exact same problem:

Would be great if you can share your resolution to this problem... It's a right pain in the ass when driving at speed and the window just pops open and slides back to the next ventilation stop.
Many thanks!

Just another concern with sliding windows! Leaking and now not closing! Perhaps another way in if it locks with the keys inside a cunning VW plan all along. Must say, the sliding windows on Transporters and Caravells look naff and are not really up to it why count they just put electric wind up windows in? Caravells cost a huge amount of money, well they all do and yet use something similar to what one might find on a battered old Series Landrover, pathetic. Oh yes and fall out aparently!!!

I have updated the thread I have created for my similar issue. Hope that will help someone with my resolution.
