Hi, I've just upgraded to a Pro account with OBDeleven and the first time it connected it gave a prompt about 'Autocode Gateway List', I have searched on here but haven't found in layman's terms what this does and can it create any issues? I didnt select 'Yes' but I'm intrigued as to what it would do. Thanks, Dan.

No, I wouldn't recommend.

The function automatically modifies vehicle's gateway configuration based on what controllers are detected (by scanning). Thus e.g. a missing controller (e.g. due a fault) would be removed from the configuration.

The gateway is the centre of vehicle's (CANbus) network and essential for intercommunication of controllers (e.g. engine, transmission, ABS, steering, etc.).

The "Autocode" function has been notorious to mess vehicle's configuration sometimes.

A bit curious why OBDeleven suggests that - have you installed/removed e.g. aftermarket headunit, towbar?

Excellent info thanks. I have an aftermarket towbar fitted and OBDeleven cant get communication with it. I have only recently bought the van so I'm not sure if the electrics for the tow bar work, would this likely indicate they won't?

How would I carry this out? Would this be useful in the event I do make a 'cock up' . Sorry for what might be simple questions, its all a bit new to me. I also have the dreaded NOx EML occurring despite having what I think is the newest software! Very complex things these modern diesels.

OBDEleven 'sees' but cannot modify my aftermarket towbar module. I think that is normal.

Ah ok, fingers crossed it'll work ok then. I'll need to give it a try when I can access my caravan.
