Could be your AUX belt tensioner. Just had mine replaced.
Did you get to the bottom of this?
Yes mine does I had the noise before cambelt kit was installed and still does it after new kit
Mine has something very similar, but like a tapping only on cold start. Once I've warmed it up it's gone. Really annoying
So you suspect it to be oil pump ? Are you going to get it replaced?
Judging by what other late have said it’s a common thing in the TDI VW’s and I have no fault codes. I may wait till the next timing service. I’ve sent an oil sample away to see if there’s anything to worry about. But to be honest I think I’m looking for problems
I can’t say that would keep me awake at night. This more like mine. At least I’m 95% sure what it is now
Hi I have a 2021 T6 29,000 miles that has the identical noise from cold , I’ve removed the aux belt and still the same , I’ve replaced the timing belt, tensioners and water pump and still the same ! Have you managed to get to the bottom of your issue yet please
I had one done, and all came back good so put my mind at ease with the engine health. If the pump goes it’ll throw an oil pressure codeI can’t say that would keep me awake at night.
If you suspect wear get an oil analysis done, by far the best way to check the condition of machinery without dismantling.
Ok thanks , yea I’m well tuned into the annoying noise tooApparently it’s the oil pump that sits behind the crank. Not many info on the T6’s but if you could VW tdi oil pump noise you will hear it’s identical. Apparently nothing to worry about just annoying. I’m pretty tuned into noise and issues atm
