No cab lighting and door open warning

Good evening, I have just purchased a T6 Startline van. I have a door open warning up on the dash even though all the doors are closed. In addition my cab overhead lights don't work with a door open. Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like one of one of the doors has a faulty switch on it and not sending the signal back to the van to tell it it's closed, which door is showing on dash ? that will be the faulty one

Do the lights still work if you manually flick the switch on the fitting, this will show the circuit is still powered

I had a similar issue not long after I got the van and it turned out to be the tailgate not being slammed hard enough, even though it looked shut.

Disconnecting battery won't do any harm (other than resetting clocks and one touch Windows) just don't leave if off over night as can kick in component protection on radio (or so I have heard ??)

I had the same problem on a T5, was a sticking microswitch, sprayed GT85 into the lock which cured it for about a week. The T5 was 7 years old though.

You could spray some brake cleaner in the lock catch in case its just gummed up as the catch presses on the switch when it closes. Other wise you need to hook it up to vcds and see what it reports. I guess its under warranty so back to the dealer.
