Door power latch not working

Hello all,

I’m looking for a bit of guidance to try and get my RH electric and power latch door closed.

This morning I opened it with the key, it unlocked, began to open then just stopped.

40amp fuse is ok, and there is no warning on the dash to say the door is open, and the button isn’t illuminated like it should be when the door is open. All signs point to the control module.

However, the door remains open and is no longer water tight. It will latch but won’t close fully. I have removed the 40amp fuse to try close it manually, and boy have I slammed it but to no prevail.

Does anyone have a way of getting the van water tight again? I’ve looked across the previous threads but no luck.

For anybody that struggles with a similar issue in the future…

I removed the control module from the N/S and placed it on the O/S, at which point the door closed, giving me a water tight van once more.

This confirmed the control module was the issue, that along with the corroded board inside the module from clear water ingress.

The other solution would be to access the power latch motor within the C post, then activate the motor using a power probe which will then close the door fully.

An issue I did encounter, was that when I refit the working module back onto the N/S it no longer worked correctly. This was resolved by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes.

As for the broken side, now the power latch is in the closed position, the door can be used manually for the mean time.
