Good evening or good morning.
I’m getting a 2018 t6 t32 highline kombi soon. Reading so much will confuse my severe adhd brain lol.

Has the standard headlights with Philips racing vision 150% bulbs at the minute.
Is there any brighter better bulbs I can buy which throw no errors please .

If I went down the thq version 3 with led am I right in thinking they are a mot failure?

It has a pioneer avic-z910dab which was fitted by Swiss vans from new. The rear camera was swapped as stopped working
. It stopped working again now there is just a black screen. Does anyone know what camera I need please?

For those in the building trade do I stick to 18s or go bigger

Insurance - who will recognise the bits it has on it .

Thanks for any help you can give me .

Welcome.
With regard to your headlights, a cheaper upgrade rather than the THQ version is to look for a set of H7's, big improvement on the original candles.
Use the search facility and you will be bamboozled with a plethora of knowledge/opinions.
Enjoy the van.

Welcome, as already said, the THQ lights are MOT compliant.
If, however, you put LED lamps or HID lamps in any headlights not designed and type approved for them, (including THQ lights) they SHOULD fail the MOT, but in my experience, if the alignment, light pattern and cut off is good they'll pass.
On wheels and tyres there are a huge number of options, just make sure that the tyres are load rated at 103 or more for your T32.
As you've realized, there is a huge amount to learn, but you're on the right forum for that!

I fitted the THQ with leds in dipped beam and passed two MOTs . I found them to be a fantastic upgrade over standard.
I keep hearing you need self levelling with LEDS but my buzz has factory leds and manual levelling . I find it better as I just drop them down when driving during the day when raining at don’t need to worry about dazzling on coming cars.

The THQ headlights are fully road legal as a unit, but if you use LED bulbs they are not. A lot of people who buy them fit LED in the dipped beam and stick to halogen in the full beam. The dipped beam is a projector, so the bulb can't be seen, which makes it likely to pass MOT, but there is a risk it could fail.

If you can wait a few months I know of a couple of full LED aftermarket headlight options that are coming. These use integrated LED projectors, not separate bulbs, so will have LED dipped and main beam and be fully MOT compliant. I think they'll be around about £900-£1000 fitted but will be worth every penny. The light output will genuinely rival the VW factory fit LED units, but for less than a third of the cost of having them retrofitted.

If you fancy bigger wheels than 18s, go for some nice 20s. In my opinion 20s look best and paired with good suspension will ride lovely. Just make sure you talk to someone about tyre sizes who really knows their stuff, like me!

Interesting to hear there’s going to be some new headlight options on the market. Don’t you need washers and levelling to make them fully legal though?

I haven’t researched this fully myself yet, but the manufacturer/importer assures me that after market full LED units do not need self levelling and washers to be fully compliant.

Worth noting that the OEM LED headlights on the T6 didn’t need washers to be legal. Some of the early T6s that had LED from the factory didn’t have washers.

As I understand it things like self-levelling and headlights washers need to be working if fitted in order to pass an MOT.
I have heard from friends that their ‘friendly’ mechanic has simply removed the failed washer or self-levelling unit and passed the vehicle through it’s MOT as the failed part is no longer fitted.

It sounds like ambiguous wording allows this.
Not great for road safety having no levelling on xenon lights (as were standard on my friends old Lexus) but there we go.

I'm used to candles but now I've got H7 and they are great. Didn't realise there were things to see at night - people, lines in the road, trees etc.

Can't see why anyone would want to go through all the hassle to blind the sun with LED's. Each to their own though.
