Hi everyone, so I was shown my way to your forum from a helpful guy on Facebook.

I just bought myself a T6.1 caravelle as an upgrade from my t5.1 caravelle that I love and have spent a fortune on doing a full exterior factory Led conversion, long story short my new 6.1 is an insurance write off as it was stolen and has had the full interior stolen…. Along with loads of wires cut 🤦🏻‍♂️ this is proving to be a problem as I do t know what the wires went to now it’s all missing. I was hoping that someone may be able to identify what parts are missing under my passenger and drivers seats so that I can add the parts back in and complete my loom again. I have pictures of the cut wires, I’ll add them to the post and sit back with my fingers crossed while you all discuss how much of a bad decision it was for me to purchase this van 😂 Thankyou to anyone in advance who can point me in the right direction. Sorry to start off my membership with such an ask.
Lastly Iv added a couple of pics of my blue t5.1 just to show you the effort Iv put into it.

What a bunch of barstewards!!!!! although at least you got van back. My first port of call would be the VIP membership on here where you can I believe you can download wiring diagrams which would be a start. Others with more intimate knowledge will be along shortly. Love the blue of the T5..

The black one wasn’t mine to begin with, I bought it as salvage cat S due to the cost to repair it, prob the wiring that wrote it off so badly so someone may see this van and be like ‘that’s my van that was stolen’ hopefully they got payed out well for it!
I think I’ll go for the VIP if I can get wiring diagrams! That’s a great shout!
Thanks for the positive comment on my T5.1 👍🏼

I have just has a chat on the phone with Dave to get some background and details
The van starts and drives so that side of it is ok but it currently has some temp (possibly california) seats in so it can be moved/driven

We have discussed getting a VCDS scan to look at errors etc and the need to check the spec of the van to help figure out whats missing
It should have LED headlights in it and these are going to be refitted as i think the cut cables that are twisted in the picture are the canbus cables to the underseat headlight range/levelling module

Heres a list of the most relevant 6.1 wiring diagrams i think you will need

These two will cover seatbelt sensors and handbrake sensor etc

These two should cover any wiring related to the seats (bottom wont be relevant if it didnt have seat airbags)

This will cover the LED headlight range module

mentioned on phone rear lights were pulled so whichever one of these is relevant will give you plug connection details for those

That should keep you going for a bit !

Thanks for that Paul, certainly the best start Iv ever had to joining any forum 👍🏼 I’ll run through all the diagrams and see what I can figure out and return with any existing confusion I have and more details on locations and wire colours etc.
I’ll also get a full diagnostic scan and let you lot have a look and let me know what you think, hopefully between us I’ll get this vans electrical issues wrapped up in no time and get to tracking down a proper interior set for it. Modifications will have to wait for once in my life 😂

Great post
I love this forum

VIN supplied by PM, i have checked the spec and after our discussion think these are the most relevant points

1D0 - it did not have a towbar
3L3 - it did not have electric seats
4A3 - heated front seats
4UF - Airbag on driver and front passenger side, without knee airbag, with front passenger airbag deactivation (no mention of seat airbags ?)
4X3 - Side airbag in front, with curtain airbag (no mention of seat airbags ?)
7K1 - Tire pressure monitoring system (not sure if this is direct or indirect ?)
8IY - LED headlights (with main beam assist)
8VG - LED rear combination lamp
ZEH - Tailgate with window aperture, and power opening and closing with power latching

What about trying cotswold parts for a full interior loom as they specialise in transporters. Will probably work out the same price as buying in bits but far less hassle and guess work.

As much as I’d like to do that the looms are made to chassis number due to variations and it would be almost impossible to match one exactly the same on a van with this spec. The next best idea I could think of was to get one as similar as possible and use that one to repair my existing loom.

So that could explain my lack of airbag looking connections under the seats! Tyre pressure monitoring I’m not sure of which kind it has but I don’t seem to have any faults in that area anyway so hopefully that’s no affected. Tailgate though, I’m wondering if that’s yet another potentially missing module under the seats. Iv just had a thought too, maybe the aux webasto heater module under the seat is missing, I’ll have to do some in depth checking tomorrow what modules are actually still fitted

Not sure about aux heater but only module that lives under the drivers seat is the LED headlight range unit (and the towbar module that you didnt have fitted)

I remember you said your tailgate had been replaced, does your tailgate have motorised motion up and down or does it just have standard manual gas struts ?
I would assume they have just put a standard tailgate on there and lost the electric assist bit ?

So in that respect it had no lifters when I got the van so I fitted genuine lifters (electric), currently not functioning, I’m not sure why, Iv not got that far….
