Hi everyone , I have been looking for a T6 for a few months , coming near a time when I have to stop looking and start viewing .I have no real preference for Long or short, WB had a 2.5 diesel LWB in early 2000's .The range of engines now I thought stick with 150 but have since seen 204's advertised any comments on reliabilty pro's /con's etc. on both. Would have liked a six seater but don't know if it's too much hassle converting to Kombi by myself , or look for factory Kombi ,any advice would be appreciated . Another thought if converting does DVLA take notice and also insurance costs do they differ if a modification .
cheers John

Welcome.

Suggest you get out there and view some in the flesh and test drive several to get a feel for what is good/normal and what is not.

The 150 is a reliable engine and mated to a DSG gearbox it is really nice to drive.

I wrote this post for someone the other day asking about the difference between a factory Kombi and a conversion as I have converted one from an PV to an Kombi and now own a factory Kombi.

If converting from a panel van to a Kombi you will simply need to fill out the ‘number of seats’ on the V5 log book and return it to the DVLA for it to be updated from 2/3 to 5/6.

You’ll need to declare the Kombi conversion (and any other modifications from the way it left the factory) to your insurer and you might find you will need to use a specialist like Brentacre or A-Plan who cater for modified vans.

Good luck and keep us updated.
